In this book we return to the Mornington Peninsula starting at Mornington. Facing Port Phillip Bay the place was originally called ‘Schnapper Point’ until renamed ‘Mornington’ in 1864 after the second Earl of Mornington. In the postcard era it was a popular destination for day trippers by excursion steamer or motor car. We see the two funnel paddle-steamer ‘Hygeia’ at the pier and the beautiful Grand Hotel before it was ‘modernised’.

We go on to Mt. Martha formerly a farming community and now a tourist destination and a nice place to live. Then on to Dromana and Arthurs Seat the highest point on the peninsular. This location with the quaint title was named after a similar looking hill in Edinburgh in Scotland.

On our wonderful photographic journey we see the old streetscapes in these places with vintage cars and beaches with people having fun.
